Forum Islamic-Theological Studies is an international academic journal with the aim of fostering academic discourse on Islamic theology, religious education, and their conceptualization.

Characterized by its interdisciplinary, multi-perspective, dialogical, and interdenominational approach, the forum provides a platform for studies, hermeneutical analyses, and academic reflections within the diverse subfields of Islamic-Theological Studies. A special emphasis is placed on the exchange of innovative, contemporary approaches with positions rooted in traditional Islamic scholarship. At the same time, the journal seeks to give space to the intra-Islamic diversity of various faith traditions and legal schools. As a medium oriented toward both intra- and interreligious perspectives, the journal Forum Islamic-Theological Studies is also open to contributions from related disciplines, such as Islamic Studies, Religious Studies, Sociology of Religion, and other theological fields.

Accordingly, the Forum contains original contributions from the established Islamic theological canon, such as Quranic studies and Quranic exegesis, Hadith Studies, Jurisprudence, Sufism, Ethics and Philosophy, Systematic-Discursive Theology, Religious Education and Didactics. It also includes first publications on the topics of community education and pastoral care, Islam and plurality, interreligious research and religious-sociological analyses of Muslims and Islam in the European context.

Forum for Islamic-Theological Studies is directed toward scholars and students in the field of Islamic-Theological Studies, as well as those in related disciplines such as Islamic Studies, Oriental Studies, Sociology of Religion, and other theological fields. Additionally, it seeks to engage practitioners in the contexts of churches and religious communities, Muslim associations, mosque organizations, and professionals in education, including religious educators, teachers, and those working in schools and educational institutions.

All scholarly contributions published in Forum Islamic-Theological Studies undergo a peer-review process based on the principle of mutual anonymity ('double-blind').
